7 Things To Do To Have A Productive Meeting

Published

on

Productive Meeting

The objective of many meetings is to discuss things that pertain to the business or company. It could be about raising productivity, troubleshooting or just brain storming. Whatever the reason, meetings need to produce positive results so that it can impact business in a good way. With this in mind, here are some things you can do to have a productive meeting.

Start On Time

If the meeting is scheduled for a certain time and most of the people are already there, close the door and start on time. Why should the whole group wait 5 to 10 minutes for stragglers? Waiting for latecomers will only reinforce lateness in the future. If your employees and co-workers know that a meeting always starts on time, they will make sure to be there at the appointed schedule.

State The Objective

Tell the whole group what the purpose of the meeting is. Going to a meeting without an agenda is a waste of time. Stating what you want to achieve can shave as much as 17 minutes off your meeting. State the objective at the start of the meeting to ensure that your meeting is effective. To keep everybody informed beforehand, share the agenda via emails and ask your group to bring important documents to save time from going in and out of the conference room.

Be Exclusive

Try to keep your meetings as exclusive as possible. Inviting many people to the meeting turns participants into spectators. Most of the time; office politics dictates who gets to be there. Get this, Google limits attendees to 10 and Amazon has a 2 Pizza rule where meeting should be limited to the number 2 pizzas can feed. Essentially, what these companies are trying to do is to limit meetings to people that need to be there.

Timed To The Second

Nicole Steinbok’s 22 minute meeting idea is brilliant. According to her, a 22-minute meeting prevents inefficiency from attendees. 22-minute meetings are ideal for companies because it keeps everybody conscious and focused from beginning till end. Many people fill their intended time so nothing is wasted. You will find that you will accomplish the same things with a 22-minute and 30-minute meeting.

Ditch The PowerPoint

Ditch the powerpoint presentation as much as possible. Most of the time, the presenter just reads off his or her presentation anyway. A powerpoint presentation is a visual tool, not a crutch. The presenter should know what he or she should be presenting without having to need life support from a visual aid.

Keep Notes and Circulate After

Keeping notes and circulating them after the meeting is one of the best ways to maximize efficiency. This will help keep everybody on track and solve potential misunderstandings. The minutes of the meeting should be circulated within 24 hours so that everybody is clear about deadlines and responsibilities.

Change The Scenery

Being cooped up inside can strain creativity, so if you find that your group is lacking in inspiration, take the meeting outside for a change of pace. Walking can rejuvenate creativity while a nature-setting can help release stress. Aside from this, outside meetings can help with privacy if you have an open office concept.

clients

The consumer market has changed drastically. Due to the extreme changes to the way we shop, entrepreneurs are trying to come up with ways that empower customers to have an enriching and engaging experience. Businesses are conducting lots of surveys to collect valuable data and conducting research activities to gain analytic insight using the data to better understand consumers. In simple terms, they are trying to have an advantage over their competitors and trying to attract more customers by offering the best products and services. Thanking your clients is extremely important for customer service and making them feel special.

Various market surveys have concluded that other than providing a better product at a cheaper price, there is one factor which separates each and every business. This unique feature is the customer experience which every business house is concerned about. Several consumer studies have been able to prove that the clients generally tend to pay much more for a better experience. Excellent customer service improves the brand loyalty of any business as well as increases your goodwill amongst the customers. One way to increase your customer loyalty is to thank your customer for their patronage and make them feel special. Here are some of the ways you can thank your customers:

Providing gifts to the customers

Gifts such as mugs, t-shirts, chocolate boxes, and other tokens of appreciation help to win the customer’s heart to a large extent. Such gift items can be presented to the customers on certain special occasions such as their birthdays, anniversaries or even on certain holidays such as Christmas or New Year. Gifts can also be sent on any normal day just to show some gratitude to a loyal customer.

A note of thanks

There are a lot of options available to thank your customers, but you should choose the ones which help you with personalized connect. One such method would be sending a simple thank you note. Though there might be a notion that handwritten notes are old school techniques and have lost their charm, it is completely incorrect. The fact remains that with the advent of technology, things such as handwritten notes have become extinct, but instead it has an even greater impact on the people today than in the past.

A day to celebrate with the customers

A day or two must be assigned to celebrate with your customers and value their loyal patronage. There can be special promotional sales and a grand lunch or dinner on these dates for the customers. One should send special invitations to the customers and invite them to have a fun and enjoyable day out.

Reward for the referrals

A referral is the highest compliment which you can receive from your client and it is very useful for the growth of any business. Such gestures from the customers always deserve recognition from your side. This recognition could be in the form of simple gift cards, thank you messages or even discount coupons on goods and services. You always need to appreciate when any customer provides you with more business.

Food

Each and every one of us love food. You could easily send some cakes or cookies from the local bakery to your customer’s’ office to show your appreciation for their cooperation.

Work can become as enjoyable as leisure if you have a cordial relationship with your clients. The above mentioned ways are great ways to thank them and appreciate them for all the trust and cooperation.

Using Live Video To Double Your Business

Published

on

live video

Instagram Live Video, Facebook Live Video, and Periscope – more than likely you would have heard of these social media platforms, but did you know they are the latest technological breakthroughs for users to incorporate into their business? These platforms allow you to connect powerfully and easily with your audience, which means as an entrepreneur, you are able to personalize your brand and business amongst targeted viewers.

Engaging with your audience is key to running a successful company. Gone are the days where you can just create a website, cross your fingers, and hope that people will find it and contact you for your products or services. We live in a new era, where billions of people are constantly connected to their smart phone. According to Facebook, there are 1.18 billion active users that visit their social network on a daily basis! So with the Live Video option, you are now able to literally interact in real time with your audience. Think what that can do for your business.

The first thing you may be asking yourself right now is, how can I reach more people without a large following? Well, the easiest and quickest way to build a responsive following is to become Keyword specific. This means that you are targeting people specifically interested in your niche and what you have to offer. It is better to have 100 followers that are engaged and interested in buying your product or service than 1,000 followers that take little to no action on your offers. One of the fundamental keys to your business growth is to create an organic following.

How to build a following organically

Content is king

The more value and content you post regularly on social media — the more followers you are going to gain. People want to learn, be entertained, and see valuable posts from you.

Assuming you’re doing this and you have a responsive following, now you are able to incorporate Live Video! Before you “go live” you must have a game plan on exactly what you will be talking about. Go in prepared or you’ll lose interest and engagement.

Keep in mind the attention span of the average person is extremely short, so you have one chance and one chance only.  Make it count! Lucky for you, you don’t have to be on Live Video for too long to get your message across. A handy acronym to use is: K.I.S.S: Keep it short and simple! Your audience will love you for that, trust me!

Build a bond

Like anything worthwhile in life, the power of our bonds with others is what binds us together.  Strip all the technology away and we are simply human beings creating connection and bonds, which create trust and trust creates fans and buyers. With your current audience, you must build a bond, in other words, a relationship with them. You can do this with live video. Have a conversation with your audience, while keeping them entertained. Ask questions, acknowledge your viewers, and deliver value that they can take away once you’re done.

Now that you’ve created a relationship with your audience ask them to spread the word by liking to share and comment. The more likes and shares you get, the further your reach gets. Now the way Facebook’s algorithm works is, with the more activity that is happening on your post or feed, they will make sure everyone can watch it and have the opportunity to engage. Whenever a user logs onto Facebook, they will see you first on their feed!

Create a contest

People love winning. Creating a giveaway or a contest that gives your users the chance to gain something by participating will spread your name and page around Facebook like wildfire. It’s scary how fast news will spread when done correctly. A word of caution: Make sure you set clear and concise rules to your contest to avoid unnecessary drama or miscommunication.

On your post, make sure to include a form. Here, you will gather the user’s information: name and email address. These two requirements are essential for you. You have not only gained new leads for your business, but your new leads have also done free advertising work for you and your business. By liking, sharing, and commenting on your post, they have now expanded your message to their following, giving them the opportunity to participate in the contest and spread the word even farther. There are a ton of ways you can grow your audience exponentially with a few cleverly executed strategies.

Live Video Doubling Your Business

Providing value and entertaining info on your product or service without sounding like a door salesman will take you a long way. At the end of each video, provide a call to action for your audience to participate in. An example of this could be, “Click the link in my bio to learn more.” Keep in mind that you do not have to provide a call to action in every video. Spamming your viewers will only backfire.

Another approach you can have is leaving a cliffhanger at the end of each video where your viewers will want to see your next Live Event. It leaves you with suspense, which ultimately makes you come back for more. That’s the effect you need to have on your audience.

Your call to action could be clicking a link that you’ve posted on your page, tagging a friend on your most recent post, and/or leaving a comment with their email on your post. The link that the user will be clicking should direct them to a landing page where you will be able to provide the user with value and an offer. That ties back into a sales funnel, where you can convert leads into buyers.

At the end of the day, Live Video allows you to connect with your audience on a personal level. This form of communication will be help you convey your message more clearly as they watch you live. You will have a better connection with your viewers as you build a connection through emotions. Live video allows your audience to learn more about you, your business and what you’re selling. Make it exciting, provide value,  develop creative call to actions for your audience and watch your business grow.
