Camden Coworking Space In A City Reborn

Things are changing in the city of Camden, New Jersey. At the waterfront, there are businesses blossoming, including Campbell’s Soup Company, the 76er’s practice facility, and Subaru of America moving in very soon. It’s no surprise that this city once riddled with crime and drugs is going through a revolution, with startups and entrepreneurs looking their way. Growth in business with potential tax breaks are attracting more and more businesses into Camden, especially to one particular building. What use to be an old bank on 121 Market Street has been transformed into a co-working space, Waterfront Lab. This historical building has the entire interior converted into a modern facility, perfect for incoming startups and small businesses.

The building itself is one of the only surviving structures of the turn of the century Camden. Relief art has been worked into the stone along with the name of the bank inscribed at the top in huge letters. Walking in, you will be greeted with a completely redesigned interior, mixing the old with the new. One of the most noted focal points of the building is the vault. Encased in a glass conference room, the vault door serves as decor that is guaranteed to capture the attention of present and future clients. Stepping into the kitchen, you can see the amount of detail they put into reconstructing it to serve the tenants as well as for hosting upcoming public events. The kitchen itself raised the budget by $30,000, and rightfully so. With new appliances, cabinets, and wood and metallic accents, it is a perfect spot for socializing and sharing ideas.

Walking up the wide set of stairs, you’ll find a large open space, soon to be filled with desks and computers. Offices line the walls with a beautiful view of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge and the city. At this point, you may realize that there may be very few lights on, yet the building is brightly lit with natural sunlight from the large windows. These are the little perks that millennial business professionals look forward to, and Waterfront Lab has been doing their research to provide the best space to serve them.
Created for tenants open to innovation and a collaborative work space, Waterfront Lab has already received several interested startups and businesses, including Waterfront Media, Linked Noodle, HopeWorks n’ Camden, Channel Logistics, and StockButter. This is just a taste of the tech scene growth in the City Of Camden. Those who want to ride the wave with these startups will undoubtedly have Waterfront Lab as one of their main points of contact when looking for a space to station their office.

Membership packages include high speed internet, use of the conference room, and best of all, free or discounted admission to member-related events held in the space. Opening March 1st, members are anticipating moving into Waterfront Lab. A space like this is bound to improve the City of Camden, bringing startups and businesses to join in on the start of something very special.
