Individuals probably can’t imagine life without their trusted smartphone. This handy device helps us receive and send emails, get and type texts, play games, schedule meetings, and so much more. It’s an all-in-one device that helps us get on top of everything. But will our smartphone be even smarter? AI-powered smartphones can be yours soon. Will they live up to the hype or be another trend that will come and go?

Aren’t Smartphones Using AI Already?

Yes, smartphones are already using artificial intelligence. For instance, artificial intelligence is already assisting you with selfies. It can make you look even more beautiful or handsome. Additionally, artificial intelligence systems like Alexa or Siri are helping users with searches, weather or news updates, home functions, and so much more. AI has been at our fingertips, and we don’t know it yet. However, with AI evolving and developing, it’s no surprise that these new models can also be part of our daily lives.

Rabbit R1

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) was the ideal place to announce the newest AI-powered tech on the market: the Rabbit R1. It’s a small device that you can keep in your pocket. What can you expect with the Rabbit R1?

  • There’s a small gray push-to-talk button on the right side of the device to help you record videos or talk to others.
  • It has a far-field mic to let you capture audio from a distance.
  • Don’t want to switch between the front or back camera? It has a 360-degree camera.
  • Reminiscing the previous scroll wheels that modern smartphones don’t offer? It has an analog scroll wheel!
  • Finally, you can insert a USB-C and a SIM card!

Ever since the announcement at CES, there has been a surge in Rabbit R1 sales. Rabbit revealed that over 30,000 units of the Rabbit R1 have been sold. Users can expect their devices in Q2 2024.

Another AI-powered phone coming into the market is Samsung’s AI device. Although it wasn’t released in the CES, the tech company has teased its new device days before its release. The tech company isn’t revealing everything, but Samsung users get exclusive access to an event when the Galaxy AI becomes public. Here’s one feature that future users can look to before the device is released: a live audio translation. An AI will translate audio and text during calls.

The event will be on January 18, 2024, at 1 PM ET.

Edit: Samsung released its new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with AI powering the device.

Other AI-Powered Devices

The Rabbit R1 is among many of the AI-powered devices introduced in the CES expo. Smartphones aren’t the only ones getting an upgrade with the latest AI models. What other cool inventions or devices were unveiled during the CES Expo?

Smart Toothbrush

One notable device that made headlines was the smart toothbrush. We’re all familiar with sonic or electric toothbrushes. But how will a smart toothbrush help you with your teeth health? Oclean, an oral care product company, will release a new electronic toothbrush equipped with AI to help you brush. An AI voice guide will accompany you while brushing your teeth and provide you with brushing techniques. CNET reports that the toothbrush will be made available to the public in the fall. It will cost $130.

Motion Pillow

Do you need a good night’s sleep with the help of AI? Now you can. The Motion Pillow reduces your snoring. You won’t hear any AI telling you you’re snoring. It will detect snoring, inflate the pillow, and help your head move to the side. There’s no other mambo-jumbo needed to operate it. Switch it on, lie down, and let AI do the rest.

Smart Mirrors

Baracoda BMind

Are you feeling down and need a magic mirror to turn your frown upside down? Similar to the Evil Queen in the movie “Snow White,” a smart mirror can give you affirmations and meditation sessions before going to work or sleeping. It uses a generative AI model; think of ChatGPT but in your mirror. It’s unclear if Mirart would be readily available to the public. But it would be a good tool to improve one’s mental or emotional state.

Anura MagicMirror

Here’s another magic mirror to add you might add to your smart home. Although the Baracoda BMind focuses on mental health, the NuraLogix Anura MagicMirror assesses physical health. It analyzes your blood flow to present patients with their vital signs. Plus, it can even identify possible disease risks. It will scan the patient’s face for 30 seconds and present patient data. Here are some areas that the MagicMirror can detect:

  • Blood pressure
  • Cardiac workload
  • BMI
  • Facial skin age
  • Pulse and breathing rate
  • Mental stress
  • Depression and anxiety health risks
  • Heart attack and stroke risks
  • Hypertension risk
