Chirp Wheel Review

Spinal health isn’t often the thing that comes to mind when thinking about one’s wellness. But when you’re in the E.R, spinal injuries are one of the most painful, life-changing, and expensive procedures. Spinal health is something we all sweep under the rug until it’s too late. Fortunately for us, Chirp Wheel pulled it back out from under the carpet.

Chirp Wheel is a simple yet innovative device that lets you easily stretch the columns of your spine by gently rolling on it. It’s deceptively simple that it makes you wonder why it took us this long to figure this out. The Chirp Wheel was featured on Shark Tank, has over 7,000 reviews, and currently has countless knockoffs on Amazon (knockoffs are a sign that you’ve made it). With all of the attention it’s receiving, it’s about time Owner’s Mag gives it a try.

Pricing

The Chirp Wheel comes in only one variation. There are three things total, the 12″, 10″, or 6″ rings. You can buy them individually or as a bundled deal. Chirp Wheel usually has a bundled deal if you buy all three. We got all three for this review. However, the original price for all three was $165, which was only $99 with free shipping.

The Construction

We received our Chirp Wheel, and it looks exactly as pictured. The inside plastic ring is both flexible and sturdy. Its injection-mold plastic core gives the wheel its strength, which supposedly can withstand up to 500lbs.

The outer layer is made up of 20mm thick EVA foam to support your back comfortably.

Chirp Wheel vs. Foam Roller

Foam rollers have been around for decades and are widely used. Both offer similar benefits and require you to stretch and roll on your back. The main difference is that the Chirp Wheel is concentrated on your spine. Meanwhile, most foam rollers are wider and focus on your entire back.

The Chirp Wheel’s concave fissure design help distribute the pressure evenly along the sides of the spine. Most foam rollers are also weirdly shaped, knobby, and awkward to use. Having used the Chirp Wheel for a few months, it’s both a more pleasant and clean experience.

How does the Chirp Wheel work?

You pick one of the three wheels, whichever is more comfortable for you, lay down, and start rolling. There are more specific instructions on their website; however, there’s not much complexity to it. What you see in the pictures is exactly how you’ll be using it. You lay on your back and roll the wheel back and forth along your spine while pushing and pulling with your feet.

The wheel is only 5 inches wide. Therefore I thought aligning it with my spine and balancing would be a circus act. It turns out to be much simpler than I thought. I never lost balance, fell off the wheel, or had difficulties aligning the wheel with my spine.

Does the Chirp Wheel work?

It won’t replace your chiropractor, nor will it fix prior spinal injuries. If used properly, the Chirp Wheel will stretch your back and release tension almost immediately. It also can help with back pain, and routine use can provide significant benefits for your overall spinal health.

Final Verdict

We highly recommend the Chirp Wheel, especially in the post-pandemic work-from-home culture where prolonged sitting is commonplace. It’s simple exercise equipment that can be used by anyone anywhere with no real downsides. The bundle of three costs $99 with free shipping. That’s an exceptional value when you consider the benefits and what you’d save in medical bills down the road.
