Your “Official” Black Friday 2022 Countdown

Published

on

Black Friday 2022, the “Biggest Shopping Day of the Year” begins right now. We’ve never needed a Black Friday deal this badly. Thanks to rising costs due to inflation, supply chain troubles, and a host of other stupid issues, the prospect of a discounted TV feels deeply appealing.

Suddenly, trampling a toddler to get a hold of an Oculus 2 doesn’t seem so ridiculous. Get out of my way, kid! Times are too tough for patience!

Thankfully, patience gets to take a back seat this year. This is America and Americans have no patience for patience. Black Friday has become a multi-month holiday and 2022 is no exception. Don’t bother waiting for the literal day (November 25). Break open the Kohl’s Cash reserve and snag yourself some irresistible deals while they’re hot. We can’t afford not to.

Save The Search, Sign Up For Email Blasts

First things first! Sign up for email newsletters from your favorite brands. They will not be shy in telling you about some sales that may interest you. And just like that, you are that much more prepared for Black Friday – but catered to your tastes.

What You Can Expect for Black Friday 2022

DO Expect: Online shopping to remain the king. Sure, there will still be massive crowds of bargain-hungry heathens looking to steamroll an elderly, disabled single mother to grab a discounted TV. Some things are tradition, ya know? But the bulk of the deals will be online and violence-free.

DO NOT Expect: Sales (or even availability) on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. All year, gamers have been snagging up those consoles faster than a barefoot jackrabbit on a hot greasy griddle in the middle of August with a– …you get it.

DO Expect: Last year’s “obsolete” technology will be heavily discounted. Who’s going to sneeze at last year’s tech? Somebody who hasn’t been affected by inflation, that’s who.

DO NOT Expect: Storefronts to be open on Thanksgiving Day. God forbid employees get to enjoy a simple family holiday. Some stores will be open later in the day, but many chains are sticking to the “closed on Thanksgiving” policy that should not be as radical as it appears to be.

The “Black Friday Big Five”

Walmart, Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Kohl’s. Those are your Black Friday go-tos that I have oh-so-brilliantly dubbed the “Black Friday Big Five.” Wherever a deal is to be found, those brands are the most immediately recognizable and readily available for consumers.

Walmart

Walmart’s Black Friday “Deals for Days” is coming back in full force! The corporate mega chain’s sale begins online on November 22 at 7pm ET and in-store on November 25.

Amazon

Amazon’s got a surprise for you: The corporate mega site will be releasing a SECOND Prime Day! (the crowd goes wild!) Prime Early Access starts on October 11 – 12. There will also be another set of sales available for 48 hours on November 25.

Best Buy

There’s a reason people camped outside of this iconic electronics chain on Black Fridays of old. The deals on tech gadgets are insane. Best Buy will run an early Black Friday sale from October 18 – 21.

Target

The legendary red-splattered Walmart knock-off (that’s, like, way better than Walmart, no shade) has not announced anything special this year just yet – but they will assuredly be offering their expectedly classic deals on electronics, kitchen tools, and home goods. Oh, and clothes. You know, the classic Target stuff.

Kohl’s

Everyone’s favorite non-legal currency Kohl’s Cash is what makes Kohl’s special. This year, you won’t just find your usual Black Friday bargain, you will earn $15 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent. That’s just deals on deals, bro.

If you just want some good deals on the traditional Black Friday products, you can’t go wrong with the “Black Friday Big Five.” (he says, trying to make it stick).
