Back in September, Apple unveiled the AirPods: an embodiment of a totally wireless audio future. The small white earbuds which look like the EarPods, just without the cord, had a few tricks up its sleeve such as activating Siri by tapping and stopping music play back automatically when taken out of the ear. As cool as they are, the press surrounding the AirPods have been the lack of release (and the relative ease of losing one of them). Apple originally announced an October release but have subsequently pushed back the release to December. The good news is that the AirPods are available for purchase as of December 13th. The bad news is that although the initial delivery was scheduled for the 21st, it looks like deliveries have been pushed back till after Christmas. At $159, the AirPods are not cheap but hopefully Apple’s delay will result in enough supply to meet the demand.
